Cacao Orange Raw Balls and Cinnamon Cardamom Raw Balls Recipes

We made some raw treats recently for our Ihana Wellness pre-Christmas party. Here´s a recipe for our Chrismas Raw Balls: Cacao Orange Raw Balls and Cinnamon Cardamom Raw Balls. They´re very easy to make and taste delicious! Cacao and orange is a really good combination, and cinnamon cardamom raw balls taste like cinnamon buns! If you want to make these two different flavours at the same time, just divide the mixture into two equal parts once you´ve made the mixture and add the extra ingredients separately.

This recipe makes 25-30 small raw balls in total.

Prep time: 30 minutes (+ 1 hour)

 Raw Balls Ingredients

(vegan,  gluten-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free)

2 cups raisins

½ cup dates

½ cup cashew nuts (soaked in water for an hour)

¾ cup sunflower seeds

¾ cup pumpkin seeds

1 tbsp agave syrup

1 tbsp coconut oil

*Extras for Cacao Orange Raw Balls:

1 tbsp orange zest (from 1 orange)

1 tbsp cacao powder

+some shredded coconut

*Extras for Cinnamon Cardamom Raw Balls:

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp cardamom

Cacao Orange Raw Balls

How to make Cacao Orange Raw Balls

  1. Soak cashew nuts in water for about an hour.
  2. Add raisins, dates, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds in a food processor. Mix well.
  3. If your coconut oil is solid, warm it up until it´s liquid and then add it into the mixture. Also, add agave syrup. Mix well.
  4. If you want to make both two flavours, divide the mixture into two equal parts. Place the other part in a bowl and leave the other part in a food processor. Otherwise, you can just make more of your preferred flavour.
  5. Wash and dry the orange with a paper towel. Hold the orange in one hand and the grater in the other over a bowl or chopping board that will collect the grated zest.
  6. Add the orange zest and cacao powder in a food processor. Mix well.
  7. Your mixture is ready. Place the mixture in a bowl. Take small bits at the time and roll them into small balls.
  8. Place some shredded coconut on a plate and roll those balls in it.
  9. Place the raw balls in a container in the fridge. Keep them refrigerated at least for 1-2 hours before serving.

How to make Cinnamon Cardamom Raw Balls

If you want to make these raw balls only, follow the instructions above (Steps 1-3) and then the instructions below (Step 2-4).

  1. Wash and dry your food processor, then add rest of the mixture in the food processor.
  2. Add cinnamon and cardamom into the mixture. Mix well.
  3. Take small bits at the time and roll them into small balls.
  4. Place the raw balls in a container in the fridge. Keep them refrigerated at least for 1-2 hours before serving.
